South Tyneside's new Recycling Village is now open to the public.
The access is much better than the old one and much larger. Unlike the old amenity site, this one has many skips so there is rarely a problem when you tip. i.e. non of the difficult reversing as in the old one .
Tips.Keep green waste, cardboard, rubble in separate bags. You can then tip the bag into the correct skip , placing the empty bag in the wheelie bin provided or, better still, take it home to reuse.

The
new site at Throckley Way on Middlefields Industrial Estate, South
Shields replaces the old Civic Amenity Site at Middlefields Depot. The
site has been designed and constructed with funding from the
Government. The site's design and facilities aim to emphasise the need
to recycle more of the waste that the community brings down to the site
in their cars.
